Who are you and what is this?
I'm not sure what you're looking for here, perhaps some context for who is writing this and whether they can be trusted. That's usually what I'm looking for on an about page.
I was born in the mid-1980s, have a university degree, which is mostly no longer current in the media environment of the 2020s. But being there taught me how to formulate and format my ideas into reality, and at least that remains somewhat useful. I have a personal site where I write about adventures, road trips, and other occasional randomness.
I believe in open access of culture, and sites like the Internet Archive, Wikimedia Commons and Wikipedia are a great assistance to that.
Therefore all photos on this site (unless otherwise attributed) are licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) (attribution: Random History Australia and a link to this site). As much as I appreciate ease of access to information, if you're needing a huge amount of textual information you can at least go to the effort to do some research and rewriting.
I used to work in the antiques and old wares business, which is where my interaction with the Packing House comes from. But now am more of a freelancer. If you have a niche history, or a story that you'd love to tell or a pile of old photos that you want out on the internet (be it here on Random History Australia, uploaded to the Internet Archive, or on Wikimedia Commons) get in contact and we can have a chat. I'm more than happy to come and meet in person, I love a road trip.
